If you have used a mounting kit, the next step is to install the bay drive on the top beam. Alternatively you can install a BayDrive directly to an existing concrete bay outlet structure.

# Install the BayDrive on a Top Beam

The BayDrive is installed centrally onto a top beam. A clamping plate and the 4x M8 fastener sets are supplied with the installation kit. The clamping plate evenly distributes the clamping loads on the top beam.

1. Place the BayDrive centrally over the top beam, lining up the bosses with the pre‑machined holes in the top beam.
2. Insert four washers and bolts into the BayDrive boss.
3. Place the clamping plate on the underside of the top beam.
4. Insert a bolt through each of the four holes in the clamping plate and fasten with washers and nuts. See [https://rubiconwater.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/BY/pages/1961459713](https://rubiconwater.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/BY/pages/1961459713) for details of torque settings.

# BayDrive Actuation Narrow Deep

Standard BayDrives with dual lifting channels do not fully actuate in very narrow culverts. The Narrow Deep model (84433) with a single lifting channel is designed for culverts between 300mm (12in) and 500mm (18in) wide.

During installation ensure that the lifting channel is in the center of the culvert.

See the [82280 DD BayDrive Sales Drawing](https://bit.ly/3qoPvKg) for more details.

> ℹ️ **Caution**
> ℹ️
> ℹ️ The deep, narrow actuation option must only be used in culverts between 300mm and 500mm wide.

> ℹ️ Ensure that the structure is clean and dry before installing the BayDrive.

 **Step 1**

Remove any debris and dry the concrete structure where the BayDrive will be installed.

**Step 2**

Locate the mounting holes – the BayDrive must sit flush with the downstream edge of the mounting structure and central to the Gate.

**Step 3**

Drill the mounting holes and remove any debris from the holes with a brush or with compressed air.

**Step 4**

Mount the BayDrive and secure using the bolts provided.

# Connect the Gate to the Lifting Channels

Connect the lifting channels to the Gate brackets and adjust the mechanical stops. See [https://rubiconwater.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/BY/pages/2306342950](https://rubiconwater.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/BY/pages/2306342950).
