The BayDrive is connected to Rubicon FarmConnect software by a Rubicon FerIT Solar Node. The Solar Node provides power to the BayDrive and an internal FerIT Node provides communication and control. > ℹ️ The FerIT Solar Node includes an integrated solar panel. This must face north in the southern hemisphere and south in the northern hemisphere. It should not be shaded by overhanging vegetation.

**Step 1**

Open the FerIT Solar Node by unfastening the two screws at the top of the solar panel.

**Step 2**

Pass the loom down through the mast.

**Step 3**

Attach the FerIT Solar Node to the top of the mast using four bolts into the mounting locations at the base of the Solar Node. Use nuts to secure the two right-hand bolts.

**Step 4**

Connect the FerIT Solar Node loom to the connector at the bottom of the BayDrive.
