# Device Status Tables

This module provides a quick overview of the status of devices grouped by device type. The devices included will depend on what you have configured for your property but can include:

- Gateways
- Flowmeters
- Outlets
- Control gates
- Level Sensors
- Water-Front Sensors
- Pumps
- Relays
- Rain gauges
- Radio Nodes

For each device the table will show the Device ID, the time when the device data was last updated, and the comms status (communication between the radio node and the connected device) of the device. The other options will depend on the type of device.

> ℹ️ - Pumps will include controls for starting and stopping the device.

You can also use the :deviceMenuIcon: standard device menu to view and manage device notes and data, view the device on the map, manage alarms, or lodge support requests.

# Working with Device Notes and Data

You can manage device notes and view or change tag data from the menu options and icons in the Device Status tables.

## Polling Devices

Use the :pollDevice: **Poll Device** icon to fetch the latest data from the device. This might take a few moments. You will see a progress dialog while the device is being polled and a success message when the data is updated.

## Viewing Device Tag Data

Use the :deviceDataIcon:  **Display Device Tag Data** menu option to view a table of tag values for a device. This opens the tag data in a popup window.  The tags displayed will depend on the device. You may also have the options to poll, trend, or modify the tags and to configure the tag alarm actions.

## Modifying Device Tag Data

Some tags are used for controlling devices and you can modify these tag set point values and send the changes to the device. If a tag can be modified it will have a :modifyTagIcon: **Modify Tag **icon or menu option. Click this icon to open a **Set Point **dialog.

Enter the new value and click **Submit** to send it to the device. Note that this may take some time. When the operation is complete, you’ll see a popup message showing the result. This may be:

- *Success* - the device tag value has been successfully updated.
- *Submitted* - the change was sent but no response has been received yet. Try polling the device to see if the tag value has been updated.
- *Failure* - your update was unsuccessful. Try again later or contact Rubicon Support if the problem persists.

## Trending Device Data

Use the :trendIcon: **Trend** icon to trend the tag data in a quick-look graph. 

## Creating and Managing Device Notes

You can store notes against your devices and acknowledge notes added to your devices by other users.

To create or view notes either:

- Choose the **Manage Device Notes** option in the device menu.
- Click the :fcNotesIcon: **Notes** icon (for example, in device popup windows).

You can then view any existing notes and create new notes.

Click **New** to create a new note. Enter the note contents and click **Submit** to save the note.
