> ℹ️ Before you manage your devices in FarmConnect Portal they must first be installed, and then registered and commissioned in the FarmConnect Administrator portal. For information about installing devices, drivers, and firmware see the device user guides on the [https://rubiconwater.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/FCKB](https://rubiconwater.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/FCKB).

Use the Device Configuration option to view and configure device settings including setting the device location and associating devices with bays or channels.

> ℹ️ **Note**
> ℹ️
> ℹ️ If the device you select doesn’t have a location, you’ll be prompted to specify one on the map. See [Set or Change the Device Location](https://rubiconwater.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/FCD/pages/2022342773/Device+Configuration#Set-or-Change-the-Device-Location) below for more details.

> ℹ️

| :updateLocationIcon: Update device location | Use this option to set the device location on the map. See [Set or Change the Device Location](https://rubiconwater.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/FCD/pages/2022342773/Device+Configuration#Set-or-Change-the-Device-Location). |

# View Device Details and Data

View the device details by selecting a device from the drop-down or select a device on the map (if the device has a location). You can view a summary of the device details on the map popup or open the **Device Data** panel to view, poll, and trend the tag values.

## Enabling or Disabling Presets for a Device

You can use the Device Configuration screen to enable or disable presets for a device. To do this, open the Device Data tab, scroll to the Presets Enabled Flag tag and click the Modify Presets Enabled flag icon. Use the popup dialog to enable or disable the presets for this device.

# Set or Change the Device Location

To specify the device location, click the :updateLocationIcon: **Update location** button on the Device Configuration toolbar and click on the map at the location you want to set for the device. You can then either click **Save** in the** Device Details **panel to save this new location or click **Reset** to restore it to its original location.

> ℹ️ **Note**
> ℹ️
> ℹ️ If you have any devices that do not yet have a location configured, you can temporarily move them close to their parent radio node by clicking the **Move unplaced child devices here** button on the parent node information popup. This makes it easier to find the devices before you set the exact location.

# Change the Device Label

Change the device label in the Device Details panel and click the **Save** button. This will change the label applied to the device on the map and in tables.

> ℹ️ For example, you might include the name of any associated bay in the device name.

# Associate a Device with a Bay or Channel

Associate a device with a bay or channel so that the application knows that you are irrigating that bay or channel when you operate the device. This means, for example, that you can use the Irrigate Bay options in irrigation programs and you can store details of water usages for your bays.

> ℹ️ **Note**
> ℹ️
> ℹ️ You can only associate a device with one bay or channel at a time.

To associate a device with a bay or channel, select the device from the drop-down list or by selecting it on the map. Use the device pop up menu on the map to choose the bay or channel to associate with it.
