Use the Manual screen to view and manage any presets that have been configured for your devices. You can also use this screen to hibernate devices or to wake-up hibernated devices.

# What is a Preset?

Presets are device changes that are programmed in advance to be set at a specific time. For example, you might create a preset to open or close a gate at a specific time.

# How are Presets Configured?

Presets are set automatically when you synchronize a time-based irrigation program.

> ℹ️ **Note**
> ℹ️
> ℹ️ In an event-based irrigation program the program coordinator manages the gates directly on-demand rather than by setting presets in advance.

## Preset Colour Key

The colours used in the Preset Open/Close Time column and in the Gantt chart indicate the preset status.

| **Colour** | **Status** |
| --- | --- |
| | Presets are disabled in the outlet and will NOT operate. |
| | Presets are enabled in the outlet and WILL operate at the times indicated. |
| | Presets in the device have completed. |

# Enabling and Disabling Presets

Disabling a preset means that the preset action will not happen. You can enable and disable individual presets or all presets.

> ℹ️ **Example**
> ℹ️
> ℹ️ You might do this if you have stopped a time-based irrigation program and you want to ensure that no further program actions are carried out.

> ℹ️ **Caution**
> ℹ️
> ℹ️ Be careful when disabling presets. For example, if you disable presets after a gate has opened, the preset action to close the gate will never execute.

## Disabling All Presets

Disable all presets by clicking the :disableAllPresets: **Disable All Device Presets** icon. You’ll be prompted to confirm that you want to proceed.

## Enabling and Disabling Individual Presets

Disable presets one at a time by clicking the **Disable** button in the Presets column.

## Enabling and Disabling Presets for a Device

You can disable presets for a specific device as follows:

# Hibernating and Waking Up Devices

Hibernate devices with motors such as BayDrives, BladeValves, and RiserDrives by turning off the power supply to the motor during periods of inactivity. This will prolong battery life and improve performance. Wake up the device when you need to use it again.

## Hibernate Individual Devices

In the **Manual Control** screen, or the [Outlet Status](https://rubiconwater.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/FCD/pages/2022342685) screen the **Hibernate** column shows the hibernation status for each device in the table. **Green** indicates that the device is awake and **red** that it is hibernating. Click the **Hibernate** or **Wake Up** buttons to hibernate or wake up the gate. The process might take a few minutes to complete.
