By default, the OAR MicronLevel sensor will measure the water level upwards from it’s maximum range (4000mm).

When the ground level is within than 4000mm measuring range, this will cause water level readings to be offset by the difference between 4000mm from the sensor face and the distance between the ground level and the sensor face. In most instances, this can be confusing for a user.

The sensor can be calibrated to measure from the ground level upwards by following the below steps:

1. Measure the distance between the sensor face and the ground directly below it
2. Connect to the FerIT node using [DeviceConnect](https://rubiconwater.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/DC)
3. Navigate to the MicronLevel Driver and the Diagnostics tab
4. Find the “Device Datum” tag
5. Adjust the “Device Datum” tag to the measured value
6. Navigate to the Data tab
7. Select “Force Periodic” to get a new measurement
8. The measured level will now be relative to the ground level

> ⚠️ Ensure that the entered datum is in the same units of measure as the measured level
