FerIT firmware version 1.17.1 has been released and includes enabling the Low Power Mode feature by default.

**What is Low Power Mode?**

Low Power Mode is designed to automatically activate when a battery voltage is lower than the threshold for a specified duration. It automatically deactivates when the battery voltage is higher than a higher threshold for another specified duration. All thresholds and durations are configurable in both DeviceConnect and FarmConnect software.

Whilst in Low Power Mode, a FerIT will suspend non-critical driver tasks, as well as disabling the High Power Output (power to motors and other devices) in order to reduce FerIT power consumption, lowering the load and allowing the battery time to recharge properly.

A FerIT solar node in Low Power Mode is effectively hibernated automatically without the need to manually switch hibernation on/off.

**How do I upgrade to FerIT firmware version 1.17.1?**

The firmware files are found on our customer knowledgebase under *Software > Field > FerIT*: [https://rubiconwater.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/RKB](https://rubiconwater.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/RKB)

Firmware is updated using DeviceConnect

**What else is included with this firmware version?**

New features include:

- Ability to plug a new FerIT node into an already commissioned motor (BayDrive, BladeValve, RiserDrive) without needing to recommission
- Protection for FerIT access code and configuration settings during low voltage conditions

It is recommended to upgrade FerIT nodes to this new version with your next maintenance cycle or at your earliest convenience. Please reach out to Rubicon via the support system if you require any assistance.
