# General guidelines for Rubicon products

- Do not store equipment outside for prolonged periods
- Cover stored equipment with plastic covers.
- Where products are supplied on pallets, store the products on those pallets until you are ready to install them.

> ℹ️ **Note**
> ℹ️
> ℹ️ Pallets should be returned to Rubicon when they are no longer required.

- Take care when moving equipment. Use appropriate lifting gear, handles, or lifting lugs.
- Before moving a pallet, check the integrity of the pallet, particularly if it has been stored outdoors. Ensure that any equipment is firmly secured to the pallet.
- Do not stack equipment (except as described in this document) as this may warp or break fragile components.

# Batteries

- Store in a cool and dry location, protected from the elements. Keep batteries and battery packs away from strong oxidizers and acids.
- Batteries must be stored upright and not in direct contact with a concrete floor.
- Disconnect batteries from equipment to eliminate parasitic loads that may discharge the battery pack.
- Prior to long-term (more than 6 months) storage of the Solar Node large battery pack, charge the battery pack to at least 30% state-of-charge. Storing a heavily discharged battery pack can result in permanent damage and decreased capacity.

> ℹ️ **Note**
> ℹ️
> ℹ️ The FerIT Node battery is not rechargeable.

- Always recharge the Solar Node large battery pack after 1 year in storage.
- All batteries or battery packs must be stored in a dry, cool and well-ventilated area. Elevated temperatures can result in reduced battery life. The FerIT Node 14.5 Ah battery (P/N 81179) must be stored under 30°C in a temperature-controlled environment.

# FerIT Node and FerIT Solar Node

Store the FerIT Node and the FerIT Solar Node in an upright position to prevent water from entering the housing.
