# Replace the FerIT Node Battery

> ℹ️ 
> ℹ️ Expected battery life is 2 years. Please dispose of the old battery in accordance with local regulations. The battery is NOT rechargeable.

1. Remove the FerIT Node cover by removing the screws in each corner of the FerIT Node.
2. Disconnect the battery terminal.
3. Undo the battery strap and remove the battery.
4. Install the new battery and fasten with the strap. Connect the battery and secure the FerIT Node cover.

# Update the FerIT Node Firmware
