Battery Type and Low Power Mode settings must be correctly configured to match the battery installed for proper device operation. Configurations must be checked during commissioning or when a battery is replaced, and updated as required.

# 1. Configure Battery Type

Follow instructions on the [Lithium Battery page](https://rubiconwater.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/LB/pages/2435350559) to navigate to Battery Type selection. Verify that the selected Battery Type matches the installed battery. If the type does not correspond to the installed battery, select and update to the appropriate Battery Type. 

There are two selectable Battery Types under the Power Module Driver settings: Lead Acid and Rubicon LiFePO4.

By default, Lead Acid is configured for new devices. This includes DryPower and Panasonic SLAs. Rubicon LiFePO4 must be selected for lithium batteries.

# 2. Configure Low Power Mode

Follow instructions on the [Low Power Mode page](https://rubiconwater.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/FER/pages/2054586375/Low+Power+Mode#Setup) to navigate to Low Power Mode configuration setup. Verify that the configurations in DeviceConnect match the installed battery, as per the table of [Recommended Configurations](https://rubiconwater.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/FER/pages/2054586375/Low+Power+Mode#Recommended-Configuration-values). If the configurations does not match, update as required.
