The Rubicon RiserDrive is designed to automate standard pipe and riser irrigation systems such as the AWMA i-Riser and the Central Vic Poly Pipe and Riser system. Another model, the RiserDrive PAI is designed to fit some American models of pipe and riser system. The RiserDrive is mounted on the pipe and riser system and is powered by a Rubicon [FerIT Solar Node](https://rubiconwater.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/FER).

> ℹ️ **Caution**
> ℹ️
> ℹ️ It is important to monitor the valve and any alarms to protect against damage and to respond quickly to operational issues that may result from any damage.
> ℹ️
> ℹ️ Alarms can occur as a result of valve or coupling failures or obstructions that prevent the valve from closing or opening as planned. The RiserDrive operates by driving to position setpoints between a commissioned close and open position. Valve position is inferred by counting the number of motor turns between the commissioned closed and open positions, there is no feedback of the valve's position in reference to the pipe.
> ℹ️
> ℹ️ The Actuation will stop if the configured torque limit is reached close to the closure position. Retry movements will occur if the torque limit is reached away from the setpoint to allow for clearing of obstructions.
> ℹ️
> ℹ️ The RiserDrive does not provide sensing of the integrity of seal or gate, however it incorporates motor current and position monitoring that allows for alarming when the actuation cannot reach the desired position setpoint.

> ℹ️ **Disclaimer:**
> ℹ️
> ℹ️ - All third-party valves **are not** covered by Rubicon’s warranty. This includes, but is not limited to, the drive shaft/wormdrive, lid, seal and other moving parts attached or other to the Rubicon Motor drive.
> ℹ️ - All fencing and protection of valves & automation units is the responsibility of Farm owner/manager. Care should be taken to ensure any livestock/animal cannot come within reach of these units.

# Dimensions

See the drawing [83500 RiserDrive Dimensional Data and Selection](https://bit.ly/3ZGRR6K) for RiserDrive dimensions.

# Selection Guide

This sizing and selection table provides guidance on selecting an appropriate RiserDrive to match pipeline pressure conditions.

> ℹ️ **Note**
> ℹ️
> ℹ️ The table is based on standard installations and supplier guidelines available at the time of writing. We recommend that you consult with the valve manufacturer to ensure that the chosen actuation system can meet the maximum torque requirements for any given installation. Where not specified you should consult with the valve manufacture once pipeline pressures are clearly understood.
